Abstract

Abstract. Socio-psychological adaptation is the process of overcoming problematic situations by an individual, during which he uses the socialization skills acquired at the previous stages of his development, which allows him to interact with a group without internal or external conflicts, to perform leading activities productively, to justify role expectations and, at the same time, to assert oneself, to satisfy one's basic needs. A person's life is closely related to his professional activity, so there is nothing more important than the right choice of life path and future activity. For the realization of each person as a social element, it is necessary to find his place in society, which in the future will allow him to fully realize himself, to feel the joy of the work he performs.

The process of adapting the personality of the applicants to the educational process in the conditions of martial law is long and difficult, and sometimes even very problematic. It is characterized by a complete rejection of the usual way of life and entering into a new unknown adult life, in which it is necessary to think not only about education, but also about how to survive during the war, to protect oneself and one's relatives, to help the army and the country.

Today, the team of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry of the State Medical University works in offline, mixed and online mode (on the Zoom platform). The mixed form of education consists of three key components: lectures, practical classes and direct communication between the teacher and the students (individual work). Currently, the lecture material is presented in the form of presentations and short summaries of all lectures on the website of the department. As for practical classes, there are also changes here: first of all, teachers devote time to psychological and pedagogical support of students, because military actions, air alarms and a permanent state of anxiety prevent the feeling of “basic security” necessary for thorough learning of educational material. Under favorable conditions (absence of air raids and power outages), the time to acquire practical skills (working with patients) is significantly increased to compensate for the disadvantages of exclusively distance learning at the beginning of the war. The teachers of the department individually approach the evaluation of each student, because today they can prepare for classes in the conditions of a long-term absence of light, Internet, and mobile communication.

Successful socio-psychological adaptation to the educational process in the conditions of martial law ensures the further development of the student of education as an individual and a future professional. How quickly and effectively students of education overcome obstacles in the course of mastering professional competences depends on how they realize their abilities in the field of professional activity and outside it. In the further development of the problem of socio-psychological adaptation of applicants, it is planned to develop ways of solving and improving methodical studies, which will provide an opportunity for a better perception of the current situation.
