Abstract

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the of rehabilitation technical means use in students’ higher education process of specialty 227 “Physical therapy”. The manuscript presents an analysis of the effectiveness and expediency of the use of physical therapy technical means on the example of three educational disciplines topics included in the curriculum for the students of the first (bachelor) level and in the standard of higher education of Ukraine (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 12/19/2018 No. 1419). The use of technical means in physical therapy in practical classes on the basis of the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Education of the I. Horbachevsky TNMU of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is a necessary condition for the performance of practical skills and is considered as a tool for analyzing the functional state of the human body.

In order to assess the effectiveness and expediency of using physical rehabilitation technical means in educational process, we analyzed the disciplines selected from the working curriculum, which is posted on the website of the Ternopil National Medical University named after I. Ya. Horbachevsky, Ministry of Health of Ukraine. We have chosen one topic from the following academic disciplines: 1st year – “Basics of practical activity in physical rehabilitation (Introduction to the specialty)”. Topic “Physical capacity, definition of the concept. Methods of determining physical capacity”; 2nd course – “Therapeutic exercises”. Topic “Therapeutic exercises for scoliosis”; 3rd year – “Manipulative methods of physical rehabilitation”. Topic “Definition and evaluation of general physical capacity and aerobic productivity”; 4th year – “Applied kinesiology”. Topic “Myofascial chains of the trunk, pelvis and lower limbs. Manual muscle testing (MMT: Muscles of the trunk and hip joint)”.

In the educational process on practical classes on mentioned topics Circle B6 vertical cycle ergometer, “mini-stepper” exercise machine, stepper, Yevminov's board, “NEXUS” spine stretching device, and “UAPC” magnet are used. These tools are used as a tool for analyzing the functional state of the human body.

According to the results of the work, it was noted that in physical therapy, technical means of rehabilitation are used in the educational process as a tool for analyzing the functional state of the human body. In practical classes in the educational disciplines “Fundamentals of practical activity in physical rehabilitation (Introduction to the specialty)”, “Therapeutic exercises”, “Manipulative methods of physical rehabilitation” and “Applied kinesiology”, students use devices, means of adaptation, training devices, which are aimed at restoring the functional state of a person, which contributes to their mastering of practical skills necessary in the further activities of a physical therapist during the performance of his professional duties in medical institutions and rehabilitation centers.
