Global computerization, the development of interactive technologies and their large-scale application in the educational process contain a huge potential for the formation of a specialist in physical therapy of a high professional level, who is able to use modern information technologies in his practical activities.
The aim of the work – to justify the use of telerehabilitation technologies in the educational process for the specialty “Physical therapy. Occupational therapy”, to focus attention on the expediency of introducing telerehabilitation technologies for practical classes with further use in the future practical activities of physical therapists.
Telerehabilitation, in which rehabilitation services are provided at a distance using communication technology, is a new and emerging field of health care. Online rehabilitation allows physical therapists to optimize the time, intensity, and duration of therapy, which is often not possible within the limitations of individual rehabilitation protocols in current healthcare systems.
Teaching and researching the use of telerehabilitation is important for the future practice of telerehabilitation, the development of various strategies for the implementation of telerehabilitation, and the program related to physical therapy education. Education of students in the specialty “Physical therapy. Occupational therapy” telerehabilitation technologies will contribute to the expansion of limited resources in rehabilitation, optimization of the rehabilitation process, increases the participation of patients and helps to increase their level of quality of life.
