Abstract

The main purpose of training medical students is to improve the practical skills necessary for the work of a doctor. In modern conditions, simulation training is actively developing as one of the ways to acquire the necessary professional competencies, improve learning outcomes and train competitive specialists of innovative type.

The aim of the article was to get acquainted with the method of conducting a course in the cycle “thoracic surgery” in the fifth year on the topic of “Surgical pathology of the respiratory system”. Work in the simulation center. Puncture of the pleural cavity. Pleural cavity drainage” using the principles of simulation education as a means of mastering professional competencies.

Using the technique of simulation training in preparation medical students provides better mastery of communication skills, complex practical and cognitive skills, improves the formation of competencies and program learning outcomes provided by the educational and professional program.
