FORMATION OF THE MODERN CONCEPT OF TEACHING THE SELECTIVE DISCIPLINE "PHYTOTHERAPY" FOR THE STUDENTS OF PHARMACEUTICAL FACULTY

The article adduces the main methodological approaches to teaching the elective discipline "Phytotherapy" of full-time students of the Faculty of Pharmacy in the specialty 226 "Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy" are analyzed. The basic tasks of the higher school are the training of specialists with deep knowledge of fundamental and applied disciplines and are to apply this knowledge creatively to solve various tasks. The developed discipline includes courses of lectures, methodical instructions, and preparation for practical works classes, which are available in the Moodle system. The lecture course is presented in the form of multimedia presentations of six topics and is also conducted using a herbarium of medicinal plants, tables, samples of medicinal plant raw materials, and herbal medicines. The elective course includes eighteen practical works, which provide theoretical and practical training of the Master of Pharmacy in the main professional activities in the field of herbal medicines and requires a number of tasks. The future specialist must be able to harvest, dry raw materials, bring them to a standard form, process them into various drugs, and analyze them. The proposed method allows the teacher to successfully build an educational process, which ultimately positively affects the overall mastering of the course.
