Abstract

The full life of Ukrainian citizens has been paralyzing with the implementation of quarantine measures due to the
COVID-19 pandemic period since March 2020. Unexpected challenges have emerged that have led to a transformation in both the health care system and medical education. The need to train future doctors and nurses has never been more urgent than it is now in the context of a global emergency. In this situation the methods, ways and forms of learning, the interaction of participants in the educational process, the content of educational cycles and the role of higher education players – students should be changed.

Ukrainian medical schools and the staff of Ivan Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (TNMU), in particular, have faced with the challenge of an urgent transformation of full-time to distance learning. That
included organization of open and transparent passing of semester exams and final certification by our students. This article presents the
experience of performing the final certification by students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing of TNMU.
