PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE SPEECH THERAPISTS AS A MEDICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL PROBLEM IN A HISTORICAL CONTEXT

Abstract

The article argues that the state approach in Ukraine to taking into account problems in the development of persons with manifestations of destructive changes in psycho-physiological and physical development directs to the extension of inclusive education. The group of specialists, who work in the field of inclusive education, includes speech therapists, intended to solve problems of speech disorders of various complexity, starting from childhood. Historical excursion analysis shows that the problem of speech disorders was analyzed by philosophers, physicians, rhetoricians of the Ancient World combined with issues of outlook, health saving and education of a man. Historical analysis of scientific literature confirms that the moment of birth of speech therapy as a science, was observed its differentiation into two branches – medical and pedagogical, that leads to the constant joint participation of both doctors and educators in the study of the etiology, symptomatology and therapy of speech disorders. Modern statistic data certify that there is a problem of provision by specialists in Ukraine, which have vocational training as speech therapist. Therefore, at the state level, short-term and medium-term prospects for the development of inclusive education have been identified, which also reflects the problem of training future speech therapists.
