FORMATION OF PROFESSIONALLY ORIENTED COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS OF STUDENTS-FOREIGNERS OF MEDICAL SPECIALTIES IN THE PROCESS OF STUDYING THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article analyzes one of the main tasks of the training program for a foreign specialist in the medical field, which is to increase the level of oral language culture, develop the ability to express students’ thoughts correctly, logically and competently. The method of formation professionally oriented dialogical skills of foreign students of medical specialties in the process of studying Ukrainian as a foreign language is offered. The selection of tasks is aimed at meeting the communicative needs of foreign students in various fields of communication: scientific (to obtain competitive training in their chosen profession), socio-political and socio-cultural (for proper adaptation and full orientation in the new socio-cultural environment), household (to meet the needs of daily life), and to foster a harmonious personality capable of intercultural dialogue.

A system of exercises is proposed that will facilitate the acquisition of skills and communication in oral and written form according to the goals and social norms of speech behavior in typical areas and situations. It has been found out that completing the set of tasks will help to develop the skills of foreign students: 1) to ask others questions and answer the questions; 2) to support and continue the conversation according to the situation; 3) to build a dialogue on the proposed topic; 4) successfully use forms of speech etiquette; 5) to answer questions about the content of the text. The materials described in the article are intended for foreign students who are proficient in the elementary level and are able to apply the acquired knowledge of the Ukrainian language to achieve social and professional interaction in the Ukrainian-speaking environment.
