Abstract

The article highlights the relationship between periodontal diseases and the state of the musculoskeletal system. One of the indicators of physical development and somatic health is the state of the musculoskeletal system, deterioration of which leads to reduction of the physical and mental condition of the people and in the future may cause the development of concomitant pathology. Systemic disorders alter the reactivity of the human body and limit its adaptive capacity, which affects the development and progression of periodontal tissue diseases.

The aim of the study – to ostend the relationship of periodontal diseases with the state of the musculoskeletal system.

Materials and Methods. The review and analysis of the latest scientific and medical literature data.

Results and Discussion. The deformation of the spine and thorax causes not only postures disorders, but also the onset of metabolic disorders in the body due to changes in the internal organs. One of the main causes of blood circulation disorders in the vertebralbasilar basin is pathological changes in the spine. The frequency of detection and degree of osteopenia are increasing as increases the magnitude of deformation in the spine and the age of the patients. Dependence between development of dental anomalies and malocclusions and disorders of the musculoskeletal system was established. Numerous anatomical connections were described between the system of the trigeminal nerve and the nervous structures involved in the regulation of posture. In the pathogenesis of periodontal diseases, all types of metabolism are involved. The leading links in the pathogenesis of such interaction may be the humoral effects of alteration factors on the connective tissue of periodontal disease, combined with damage to the macro- and microvascular tract, and a decrease in the mineralization of the skeleton.

Conclusions. Based on these sources of literature, violations that develop in the pathology of the musculoskeletal system, dental anomalies and malocclusions, hemodynamic shifts in the microcirculation system, and damage to tissue immunity contribute to the development of periodontal diseases.
