Abstract. This article presents a systematic review of publications comparing different methods for determining the jaw Centric Relation (CR). The purpose of the study – based on scientific research data, to establish a reliable clinical method for determining the CR, with which this position can be recorded, repeated, and reproduced in clinics. Materials and methods. This systematic review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA (Preferred reporting items for systematic review and metaanalysis protocols) and PICO guidelines. Research material was searched in several databases using keywords. The Cochrane Collaboration tool was used to assess the risk of bias in randomized controlled trials, and the MINORS methodological quality index was used for non-randomized trials. The quality and strength of the available evidence was assessed using the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) system. Results. An analysis of scientific articles published between January 2013 and December 2023 was conducted. The search resulted in a list of 840 articles. After screening using exclusion criteria, 8 articles on different methods of placing the LJ in the position of the CR were reviewed and discussed. The authors of the study concluded that practicing dentists of various specialties (therapists, orthopedists, orthodontists) should rely on time-tested, scientifically sound and simple to perform techniques that give the best results at minimal cost. One of such methods is undoubtedly the bimanual Dawson’s technique, which, in combination with an incisal deprogrammer, allows you to determine the position of the CR, which can be recorded, repeated and reproduced. Conclusions. There are several techniques for accurate and reproducible determination of the CR position. In the authors’ opinion, the bimanual Dawson’s technique should be preferred, preferably in a lying position.
