AI Use Policy
- General provisions
The journal “Clinical Dentistry” recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted tools may serve as useful aids in the preparation of scholarly publications. At the same time, the use of such technologies should be carried out in compliance with the principles of academic integrity, responsibility, and transparency.
- Permissible Uses of AI
Authors may use AI technologies in manuscript preparation only as an auxiliary tool, in particular for:
- search for literature and analytical materials (with subsequent verification of sources);
- improving the style of presentation and linguistic literacy of the text;
- creating illustrative materials (schemes, diagrams, visualizations), if their use does not distort the research content;
- assisting in translating or editing the text;
- preparing technical elements of the manuscript (spell check, formatting).
- Prohibited Uses of AI
The use of AI is not permitted where it may compromise the originality, reliability, or academic integrity of the work, in particular:
- generation of research content (statement of tasks, description of methods, analysis of results) that the authors have not checked and confirmed;
- automatic creation of references or bibliographies, which may lead to fictitious or incorrect sources;
- concealing plagiarism by paraphrasing or automated rewriting of other people’s texts;
- use of AI as a co-author of the article – artificial intelligence systems cannot be recognized as authors or co-responsible for scientific results.
- Disclosure Requirements
- Authors must explicitly disclose the use of AI tools in Acknowledgements or in a separate note, specifying the tools used and their purpose.
- The note should be as transparent as possible (for example: “When writing the article, Grammarly was used for language editing” or “MATLAB with AI-based analytical tools was used fpr data visualization”).
- Concealing the facts of AI use constitutes a breach of academic integrity.
- Authors’ Responsibility
- The authors bear full responsibility for the content of the manuscript, the reliability of results, and the validity of interpretations.
- The use of AI does not relieve authors from the obligation to ensure scientific novelty, accuracy, and compliance with ethical standards.
- In case of violations of the AI Use Policy, the Editorial Board reserves the right to request revisions, reject the manuscript, or withdraw the article.
- Journal Principles
This policy has been developed taking into account the recommendations of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and leading academic publishers. The journal strives to maintain a balance between innovation and academic integrity, ensuring transparency and trust in scholarly publications.
