Generative AI Policy
We are committed to upholding high ethical standards and accountability in all aspects of the publication process, including the potential use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the handling of scientific materials. This policy aligns with international standards of publication ethics, such as the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other leading organizations.
Use of AI
Currently, AI is not used on the journal’s website to automate publication or peer review processes. However, authors, reviewers, and editors may use AI in their work at their own discretion.
This may include, but is not limited to:
- using AI to analyze scientific data, generate text, edit language, or assist in structuring articles;
- using tools for plagiarism detection, grammar checking, literature search, or the creation of supporting descriptive elements.
Transparency and Ethics in the Use of AI
We emphasize the importance of ethical AI use in publication-related processes. If participants in the process use AI, they must adhere to the following principles:
- Transparency: If parts of an article or review were generated using AI, this must be clearly stated in the text. Authors are required to declare the use of AI in the article (in the “Materials and Methods” section), specifying the tool and the purpose of its application.
- Ethical use: AI should not replace actual human judgment or analytical work. All significant scientific decisions, interpretations, and conclusions must be the result of human analysis. AI cannot be listed as an author.
- Accuracy and integrity: AI tools must not be used to manipulate results or generate falsified data, images, or citations.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
We emphasize the importance of protecting confidential information. The processing of confidential clinical or personal data via third-party AI tools is prohibited. All users must adhere to confidentiality standards and not violate the rights of authors or reviewers.
Responsibilities of the Parties
Authors: bear full responsibility for the entire content of the manuscript, regardless of the use of AI. Failure to provide a proper disclosure may be grounds for rejection of the manuscript.
Reviewers: must ensure that the evaluation of materials is fair, objective, and based on their professional analysis, without excessive reliance on AI.
Editors: ensure that publications comply with ethical standards and journal policy in cases where AI is used.
