108 children with a solitary kidney (congenital solitary kidney, solitary kidney after nephrectomy (SKN), solitary functioning kidney (SKF), horseshoe kidney) were examined in order to identify renal ultrasound signs of structural and tissuechanges. Determined that the ultrasound signs of structural and tissue changes occur significantly more often in children with SKF and SKN. The correlation between the solitary kidney origin and frequency of ultrasound symptoms of renal
structural and tissue changes was detected. The possibility of applying ultrasound investigation to identify structural and tissue changes in children with a solitary kidney was proved.
