Features of psychosocial functioning in patients with cosmetic problems and disharmonious low self-esteem and low self-appaisal were studied in the research. The study was conducted at the Medical Center "CA Clinic" (Kyiv) during 2014–2016 years, 204 women with cosmetic problems participated in the research. All participants were divided into groups based on criteria of low self-appaisal: basic group included women with disharmonious low self-esteem (BG, n=108), the comparison group women with harmonious type (CG, n=96). The psychosocial functioning of women with disharmonious self-esteem and low self-appraisal is characterized by negative relation to own physical and personal features, dissatisfaction, indecision, and negative feelings associated with interpersonal interaction, difficulties in social interactions, passivity, dependence, externalization of control locus. The most affected dimension in psychosocial adaptation was self-perception that became as a leading psychopathogenic factor. Psychocorrection of psychosocial functioning is an important part of psychological help for patients with cosmetological problem.References
