Abstract

Introduction. Physical therapy is an important component of modern medical practice. It is based on a combination of scientific research, clinical experience and an individualized approach to patient rehabilitation. Of particular importance in the professional practice of physical therapists is the use of scientifically proven methods of rehabilitation for patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Military aggression in Ukraine led to a significant increase in the number of wounded patients, including those who received injuries that affect the activity of the musculoskeletal system. This poses enormous challenges for the medical system to provide effective rehabilitation for victims. Military injuries are often characterized by complexity, which requires rehabilitation professionals to have a high level of expertise and a deep understanding of the scientific principles and evidence-based methods of rehabilitation. Successful rehabilitation in these cases is of great importance for the quality of life of the affected persons and their further integration into society.

The aim of the study – to analyze the international experience of scientific and evidence-based practice in physical therapy for disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

The main part. Today, there is a large number of studies that relate to physical therapy for disorders of the musculoskeletal system. There is a dedicated PEDro database that specializes in systematic reviews and clinical trials in physical therapy. This approach is known as evidence-based practice. The flood of information in the field of musculoskeletal rehabilitation has increased tenfold over the past decade, with thousands of new articles published annually. However, it is extremely difficult for rehabilitation specialists to analyze this amount of information. For this purpose, it is necessary to analyze the world experience of scientific and evidence-based practice in physical therapy.

Conclusions. To achieve the most effective result in the process of physical rehabilitation, it is important to use clinical decisions regarding intervention strategies and tactics based on evidence-based medicine. The use of physical rehabilitation methods, which, according to a review of evidence-based medicine, are considered effective for recovery and correction, will help improve the quality of life of people with limited mobility, optimize the physical therapy program, and shorten the period of rehabilitation support.
