Significant Peculiarities for Dental Status of Microbial Factor as a Result of Chemotherapy in Patients with Newly Diagnosed Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Complex functioning of the immune system with specific TB infection naturally determines the state of interaction between micro- and macroorganisms, and, therefore, significantly affects the course of inflammatory processes in periodontal tissues, since microorganisms initiate the development of multifactorial response in barrier structures of teeth retaining tissues. So it is important to identify the specificities of microbial factor as an etiological factor of inflammatory reaction in periodontal tissues in patients with TB. The aim of this study was to investigate the characteristics of microbial flora content in periodontal pockets in individuals with periodontal diseases together with newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis in dynamics on stage I of specific anti-mycobacterial therapy. We found out the specificities in microbial landscape, which evidenced the adverse changes in the biotope of periodontal pockets in patients with newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis – the TB treatment led to disturbed microbiocenosis in periodontal pockets, replacing the compensatory saprophytic flora with opportunistic flora; essential was the detection of presence of acid fast bacilli in the habitat, and their persistence without bacillation from pulmonary secrets.
