Abstract

Metabolically active bone tissue undergoes continuous remodelling. These processes rely on the activity of osteoclasts (resorption), osteoblasts (formation) and osteocytes. An overview of biochemical markers of bone metabolism is presented along with indications for their clinical utilization.
