Abstract

The aim of the study – optimization of medical and diagnostic care for children at the primary level in a transitional period at the present stage of medical reform.

Materials and Methods. To evaluate medical activity of parents in families where children have chronic somatic pathology, parents' questionnaires were conducted. For the provision of highly qualified medical care, a specialized mobile pediatric brigade was established at the Department of Children's Diseases and Pediatric Surgery of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University.

Results and Discussion. The experience of the specialized mobile pediatric team has shown that its activities can be diverse: cooperation with the "Clinic on the wheels" of the International Charitable Foundation "Gift of Life", trips for medical examinations to schools and kindergartens, medical examinations in conjunction with doctors of the central regional hospitals, thanks to which children receive highly qualified multi-disciplinary counseling and treatment. Conducting educational conversations and lectures directly with the parents of sick children increases their responsibility for the health of the child, obliges them to comply with medical prescriptions and appointments, hygienic recommendations and conduct therapeutic nutrition.

Conclusions. A high percentage of newly diagnosed pathology among examined children and referral to inpatient treatment is an expression of the effectiveness of such work. The percentage of parents' self-reversal increased in the regional children's polyclinic from the regions where the specialized mobile pediatric team worked. The innovation of the specialized pediatric mobile team was the combination of primary and tertiary care, which increases the effectiveness of child health surveillance.
