According to the literature persistent endothelial dysfunction is present in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, leading to the early development of atherosclerosis and related diseases of the cardiovascular system. In the early stages of subclinical vascular lesions common carotid arteries and abdominal aorta intima-media complex thickening, increased stiffness index of common carotid arteries wall is evident by duplex sonography. The use of drug contains omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids for 1 month results in slowing the progression of common carotid artery and abdominal aorta intima-media complex thickening, slowing of increase in wall stiffness of the common carotid artery in patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
