The aim of the study – to investigate indicators of disorders of the humoral link of immunity in patients with chronic endometritis.
Materials and Methods. A retrospective cohort study was conducted at the Damiya Reproductive Health Medical Center (Ivano-Frankivsk). The study included 30 women aged 28 to 38 years with an anatomically normal uterus, positive for chronic endometritis (CE) (main group), who received conventional treatment. The control group consisted of 30 healthy women at the stage of preparation for motherhood with male factor infertility. The thickness of the endometrium was measured in the periovulatory phase on day 13–14 of the cycle using a GE Voluson S8 ultrasound device. Proinflammatory cytokines, in particular, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-10 (IL-10), were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using reagents manufactured by the company «Vector-Best» (Ukraine).
Results and Discussion. In terms of age, AMH level and CD-138 level, the groups of patients were homogeneous, without significant differences. When examining the immune status, we found differences between the main and control groups. In the control, TNF-α was on average (3.5±0.22) pg/ml, while in the chronic endometritis group this indicator was (6.95±0.53) pg/ml, which was more than 2 times higher control indicators (p<0.05). Indicators of IL-10 in the control group were (8.96±0.43) pg/ml, while in the main group this indicator significantly decreased and was (5.14±0.18) pg/ml, p<0.05. The correlation between TNF-α and IL-10 in women of the control group is 0.39±0.03, and in the main group this indicator is 1.35±0.05, which is significantly (p<0.05) higher compared to indicators of the control group.
Conclusion. With chronic endometritis in women treated for infertility, activation of the pro-inflammatory link of immunity is observed, which is manifested in the form of increased levels of TNF-α and IL-10.
