The aim of the study – to familiarize with the using of bilateral uterine artery embolization (UAE) as an alternative method of treating uterine leiomyoma to preserve fertility.
Materials and Methods. A clinical case of using uterine artery embolization as an alternative method to myomectomy in a woman with uterine myoma 20 weeks of pregnancy is described.
Results and Discussion. In the postoperative examination, positive dynamics were noted – improvement of the general condition, the reduction of the uterus according to the size of 13 weeks of pregnancy and the volume of the uterine myoma was clinically noted.
Conclusion. The use of uterine artery embolization in this patient made it possible to prevent hysterectomy and to be able to implement the fertility function in the future.
