Abstract

The aim of the study – to study the main regularities of children's injuries with the aim of timely recognition, treatment and prevention of injuries in children. Traumatism is a multifaceted problem and consists not only of medical measures, but also of various social problems – everyday life, school, family relations, the environment, cinema, sports, theaters, advertising.

Materials and Methods. The algorithm of the examination consisted in the monthly assessment of the number of traumatic injuries in absolute numbers during the year. 7434 cases of injuries in children who were treated in the regional children's trauma center were analyzed. For the convenience of statistical processing, all injuries were detailed into general groups – fractures, dislocations, wounds. Injuries that had a common cause were separated into groups of injuries – domestic, street, school, sports. The circumstances and regularities of the occurrence of various injuries to children were studied. The obtained data will make it possible to identify some statistical regularities that can be used in practical activities for the purpose of timely prevention. The conditions of wartime put us in certain restrictive frameworks, so the statistical data of peacetime were studied. An in-depth study of the injuries of the children's population at different age periods of the child's life and the surrounding environment showed previously little-known regularities of these injuries, because each injury has its own cause.

Results and Discussion. The first peak of children's injuries is observed in the summer season, when the big summer vacations began. An excess of free and uncontrolled time, inadequate control of adults, lack of life experience, curiosity are the main causes of traumatism in children. The second peak of injuries coincides with the end of the summer holidays and the beginning of school. Children again adapt to new conditions, from permissiveness to controlled norms of behavior at school under the supervision of teachers and parents. Such factors as uncontrolled free time, aggressiveness, impulsiveness, lack of life experience, incomplete family, alcohol reinforce each other and increase the chances of a child's mutilation, we called this regularity the traumatological pyramid syndrome – TPS (traumatological pyramid syndrome – TPS). We established the role of lack of physical development and a sedentary lifestyle as one of the main factors of traumatism, which we called – hypodynamic trauma syndrome – HTS (Hypodynamic trauma syndrome – HTS). Inability to control one's body, low level of movement coordination, lack of muscle strength, endurance, and hypodynamic osteoporosis contribute to the risk of injury.

Conclusions. A traumatological regularity has been revealed - traumatological pyramid syndrome - STP. A child's sedentary lifestyle is one of the main factors of injury - hypodynamic traumatological syndrome - GTS. The main cause of traumatism is the child, therefore the main preventive measures should be shifted from the medical sphere to the social one.
