The aim of the study – to identify and study the factors that indicate the existing osmotic hyperreactivity of the bronchi in children with bronchial asthma: living in damp rooms with moldy walls, near open water (rivers, lakes, ponds), the dependence of disease exacerbations on wet weather, season.
Materials and Methods. Analyses of anthropometric data, accommodation and dependence on weather were studied in 160 children with intermittent asthma and persistent asthma. Children with persistent bronchial asthma have a more pronounced osmotic hyperreactivity of the bronchi, which is manifested by more frequent meteorological dependence on wet weather, living in places with high humidity: in humid areas and near open water than children with intermittent bronchial asthma.
Results and Discussion. In children with intermittent asthma, the severity of osmotic hyperreactivity of the bronchi is most often observed in seasons with high humidity.
Conclusions. In children with intermittent bronchial asthma, the expression of osmotic hyperreactivity of the bronchi is most often observed in seasons with high humidity. Children with atopy with persistent and intermittent asthma are more likely to live in areas with high humidity and have exacerbations during wet weather and periods with high humidity than children without atopy.
