SUMMARY. It is known that the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is a classification of components of functionality and limitations of life. It measures a person’s functioning in society, regardless of the causes of the damage. Important components of the use of ICF are that it strengthens the role of a person in society regardless of his physical capabilities. Quality of life reflects the patient’s functioning in society. The ICF also determines the influence of the environment and personal factors on human functioning.
The aim – is to analyze modern research and determine the features of the International Classification of Functioning, Life Limitations, and Health in setting goals for rehabilitation by a physical therapist.
Material and Methods. With the help of search databases of the "Internet" network, a bibliographic review of information sources and analysis of materials regarding the features of the application of the international classification of functioning, limitations of life activities in setting rehabilitation goals was carried out.
Results. The review analyzes modern research in the direction of the International Classification of Functioning, describes the role of the ICF in setting rehabilitation goals. The setting of rehabilitation goals and the distribution of responsibilities between different specialists of the rehabilitation team allow, on the one hand, to perform their duties independently of each other, on the other hand, to jointly contribute to the formation of a new functional status of the patient with precise coordination of their actions with other specialists. The multidisciplinary team forms a plan of rehabilitation measures (interventions) based on the ICF, which is a key tool for setting the goals of the rehabilitation process.
Conclusions. The International Classification of Functioning plays an important role in establishing rehabilitation goals, as it provides a systematic approach to assessing and categorizing the functioning of persons with disabilities, promotes standardization of the process, improved communication, and accurate determination of rehabilitation outcomes. When setting rehabilitation goals, they should be aimed at improving the quality of life and independence of persons with disabilities, taking into account their individual needs. Setting clear, realistic and individualized goals is a key element of successful rehabilitation. KEY WORDS: rehabilitation, ICF, goals, physical therapist, multidisciplinary team.
