Abstract

SUMMARY. Questions about organic damage to the nervous system in children, in particular (cerebral palsy), are relevant in pediatrics and neurology. Despite advances in the field of medicine, cerebral palsy remains a difficult problem, and the number of children suffering from this disease is increasing worldwide. It can be is due to the fact that nowadays more and more children are born prematurely. Now in Ukraine there are 2–3 children with cerebral palsy per 1000 population. The disease is widespread among both sexes and in various ethnic and socio-economic groups.(6)

The aim – analysis of a complex approach to the rehabilitation of children suffering from cerebral palsy and determination of the effectiveness of the methods used.

Material and Methods. 20 children with cerebral palsy participated in this study, divided into two groups of 10 people each. The duration of rehabilitation was 21 days. The GMFM gross motor impairment scale, the 6-minute walk test, the Ashward spasticity scale, and the “TIMED UP & GO” test were used to assess the functional status.

The effectiveness of kinesiotherapy, ergotherapy, sensory integration, and manual-muscular techniques was studied. The article examines the role of each of these elements in restoring the motor function of children with cerebral palsy.

Results. The authors emphasize that a complex approach in rehabilitation is the most effective for achieving the maximum result in restoring functions and improving the quality of life of children with cerebral palsy.
