SUMMARY. The professional activity of military personnel in the combat zone is associated with psycho-emotional overload, which contributes to the development of chronic stress and negatively affects the state of health, contributes to the development and progression of diseases. Stress resistance characterizes the degree of a person's ability to cope with a conflict situation, maintaining internal balance, without reducing the success of professional activity. A high level of stress resistance ensures the performance of professional duties in normal, difficult and extreme conditions, preservation of work capacity and health after resolving a difficult situation.
The aim – to determine the features of volitional self-regulation in military personnel with different stress resistance.
637 servicemen who returned from the combat zone during the full-scale invasion were tested. We determined stress resistance using the test method "Stresses and stress resistance", and to determine the level of volitional self-regulation, we used the test questionnaire of A. V. Zverkov and E. V. Eidman. The intensity of combat experience was assessed using the Combat Exposure Scale.
The dependence of volitional self-regulation on stress resistance in military personnel was established. The positive dynamics of restoration of the level of volitional self-regulation in persons with different stress resistance was noted. Based on the obtained results, we can talk about positive dynamics in restoring the level of volitional self-regulation in people with different stress resistance, but in people with good stress resistance, its recovery was faster and better, compared to military personnel with average stress resistance. In subjects with good stress resistance immediately after returning from the front, volitional self-regulation was 15.26±0.31 points, after a month – 16.99±0.31 points, and after three months – 19.33±0.31 points. In persons with average stress resistance, immediately after returning from the front, volitional self-regulation was 9.43±0.33 points, after a month – 11.16±0.36 points, and after three months – 13.69± 0.39 points.
The study of this problem will make it possible to predict the restoration of health and professional success in conditions of increased stress factors, to outline the ways of adaptation and rehabilitation of military personnel in these conditions.
Conclusions. In servicemen with good stress resistance, a high level of volitional self-regulation prevailed in the first week after returning from combat, and a low level of volitional self-regulation prevailed in those with medium stress resistance. 3 months after returning from combat, among servicemen with good stress resistance, the number of persons with a high level of volitional self-regulation increased, and the number of persons with a low level decreased by 84 %. During this time, among servicemen with average stress resistance, the high level of volitional self-regulation increased, while the low level decreased by about 33 %. Average negative correlations were established in individuals with good and average stress resistance and volitional self-regulation in military personnel. Moderate correlations were found between the intensity of combat experience and the average stress resistance of servicemen.
