Many studies are used to determine the effectiveness of rehabilitation measures, different methodologies for evaluating treatment outcomes, and there are currently no single patient records protocols and a comprehensive approach to selecting diagnostic criteria that do not always have clear quantitative characteristics.
The aim of the study – application of an index of disease estimation for determining the efficiency of rehabilitation complexes at ambulatory and sanatorium-resort stages of rehabilitation in patients with primary gonarthritis in the elderly.
Materials and Methods. The study included 112 patients with primary gonarthritis. There were 32 men (28.6 %) and 80 women (71.4 %) aged 61–75 years (mean age (65.2±3.1) years). 54 patients were in the outpatient stage of rehabilitation, 58 patients undergo sanatoriumresort stage of rehabilitation. In order to determine the clinical effectiveness of the application of comprehensive programs of medical rehabilitation in patients with primary gonarthritis, an index evaluation scheme is used.
Results and Discussion. The proposed comprehensive assessment of the immediate results of rehabilitation showed its informative in rehabilitation practice. According to the index method of evaluating the effectiveness of treatment, a “good” result was recorded in (46.2±2.2) % of patients after undergoing an outpatient stage of rehabilitation and in (73.3±3.6) % of patients after the completion of the sanatorium-resort stage of rehabilitation, “satisfactory” – in (48.6±2.3) % of patients after outpatient and in (24.6±1.1) % of patients after the sanatorium-resort stage of rehabilitation,“unsatisfactory” – in (5.2±0.2) % of patients after outpatient and (2.1±0.1) % of patients after the sanatorium-resort stage of rehabilitation. The obtained results of the research testify to the positive effect of developed individual rehabilitation complexes on both outpatient and sanatorium-resort stages of rehabilitation.
Conclusions. Calculation of the index assessment of the severity of the pathology at the beginning of the outpatient and sanatoriumresort stages of rehabilitation allows you to evaluate the patient's situation, taking into account objective and subjective criteria, and also by means of an index assessment of the pathology, the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program can be determined.
