Abstract

The article represents the results of a comparative toxicometric analysis of six original coordination compounds of germanium (CСG) with various essential elements (zinc, copper, manganese) and biologic agents (citric and tartaric acid), which possess potential antihypoxic properties.

The aim of the study – to perform a comparative toxicometric analysis of new coordination compounds of germanium with essential elements based on citric and tartaric acids.

Results and Discussion. It was experimentally proved that the toxicity parameters LD 16, LD 50, LD 84, LD 99, which were studied by probit analysis, are totally different depend on an essential element or bioligands in their structure. It was shown that the main toxicophore is a metal, not an acid in heterometal complexes with different bioligands. According to LD 50 all investigated CCG are located in the next decreasing series: OKAHERM-5 (cuprum (II) tartratogermanate (IV))> OKAGERM-2 (cuprum (II) bis (citrate) germanate (IV))> OKAGERM 3 (zinc bis (citrate) germanate (IV))> OCAGERM-6 (zinc (II) tartratogermanate (IV))> OKAGERM-4 (manganese (II) tartrate germanate (IV))> OKAGERM-1 (manganese (II) bis (citrate) germanate (IV)). It was established that one intraperitoneal injection of all CCG possess low-toxicity and moderate toxicity to mammals, including humans, based on the extrapolation of experimental data using the constants of biological activity.

Conclusions. Our results are promising for the further pharmacological study of the most promising compound OKAGERM-4.
