Abstract

This article is entirely dedicated to the topic of donation of organs, tissues and cells. This therapeutic approach recognized on the whole world often provides a chance to return to health and significantly improves the quality of life, allow to work and carry out daily activities. The most important part of the work was to present and analyze the results of research regarding the level of knowledge and opinions about organ donation, carried out among of 130 medical and non-medical students at the Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in BiałaPodlaska in March and April 2015 year.The results show a significant effect of the study on the level of knowledge and opinion to the topic of donation. Conducted research showed that most respondents support organ donation. However, there are ethical dilemmas among people waiting for a donation and potential donors. The varied opinions to certain matters of organ donation was presented in this article. In connection with the objections and criticism to this method of treatment are necessary actions that disturb stereotypes about organ donation and raise awareness of what donation really is and what advantages brings.
