Purpose: to analyze literature data on the use of Patient Reporting Measurement Questionnaires (PREMs) and Patient Reporting Indicators (PROMs) and identify their role in improving current clinical services and developing further services for both patients and service providers.
Materials and Methods. An analysis of the literature on the use of Patient Reporting Measurement Questionnaires (PREMs) and Patient Reporting Performance Indicators (PROMs) was conducted. Bibliosemantic (study of professional modern international literature on the research problem) and analytical research methods are used.
Results. The PROMs and PREMs programs complement traditional performance indicators and provide a better understanding of the outcomes and effectiveness of health care. Patient-reported outcome indicators (PROMs) and patient-reported performance indicators (PREMs) are measures that provide a patient-centered view of health care. PROMs allow clinicians to gain insight into the impact of the disease and treatment on their lifestyle and quality of life. PREMs are a viable and reliable solution for evaluating process measures and assessing the quality of care.
Conclusion. Clinicians have recognized that high-quality clinical care requires patients to provide information about their feelings, their symptoms, and the consequences of the treatments they have used.
