Abstract

Introduction. Resilience is a dynamic and multifaceted phenomenon with static and evolving characteristics, and any changes in levels of resilience are related to specific circumstances. Nurse resilience is necessary to overcome the multifaceted challenges faced by healthcare institutions.

The aim of the study – to analyze the resilience features of nurses from different departments to optimize their work.

The main part. The study was based on the analysis of scientific sources of information on the specified topic. Nursing resilience is a complex dynamic process that enables nurses to actively adapt to workplace stressors, avoid psychological harm, and consistently provide safe, high-quality patient care. High workloads and fast-paced work environments increase the risk of burnout for nurses across departments. These challenges have led to a sharp decline in nurses’ job satisfaction and a sharp increase in turnover, as researchers have suggested a strong link between nurses’ mental health, the quality of nursing care, and patient outcomes. Nurses with higher levels of resilience are more likely to stay in their profession longer and are less likely to experience burnout. Training nurses to acquire the necessary professional skills requires significant time and effort, so containing turnover is a top priority. Psychological resilience is considered to be a key component of the adaptation of nurses across departments. In general, most research on resilience among nurses shows that health workers view resilience as having a positive mindset, noting that resilience includes the behaviors, emotions, and psychological manifestations of actively adapting and growing professionally in the face of significant stressful challenges.

Conclusions. Understanding resilience in the profession can help nurses identify or prevent potential problems early, thus contributing to work resources and ultimately achieving personal and professional growth. On the other hand, understanding resilience helps nurse orient herself/himself in which department she/he is ready to work and which psychological aspects should be worked on to achieve the best result when choosing a workplace.
