Abstract

Introduction. Physical education acts as an integral part of complex physical therapy aimed at restoring physical functions and improving the quality of life of patients. Physical education in rehabilitation medicine occupies an important place because it is aimed at restoring the functions of the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular and nervous systems. The main goals of physical education in the context of physical therapy are to increase the functional activity of the patient, to improve the overall physical condition, to prevent complications and to ensure the social adaptation of the patient after suffering diseases or injuries.

The aim of the study – to substantiate the use of physical education in rehabilitation medicine.

The main part. Physical exercises are the main means of physical education and physical rehabilitation, which ensures motor activity of a person and the development of physical and mental qualities. In a general sense, means of physical education are special actions or techniques that are used to achieve certain results in improving physical condition. Such means may include both motor activity and other factors affecting health and restoration of physical functions. The main means of physical education are physical exercises, which are implemented in various forms, such as sports games, household or professional motor actions, as well as military training. Additional means include the use of natural factors, such as solar radiation, fresh air, water and earth, which have a positive effect on the body and contribute to general improvement. There is also the observance of hygienic norms, in particular the routine of the day, proper nutrition, rest and work, which help to maintain the body in optimal condition. Means of physical rehabilitation are divided into active, passive and psychoregulatory. These means include physical exercises, provided with control doses, thanks to which the functional activity of the body is restored in case of injuries or diseases. Passive means are methods such as massage, physical therapy, manual therapy, and exposure to natural factors that reduce pain, improve blood circulation, and stimulate tissue regeneration. Psychoregulatory means, such as autogenic training or muscle relaxation, are aimed at restoring the psycho-emotional state, reducing the level of stress and mental tension .

Conclusions. Thus, the complex use of active, passive and psychoregulatory means is a key to achieving maximum results in both physical education and physical rehabilitation.
