ANALYSIS OF THE RESEARCH ON SLEEP DISORDERS AND ANXIETY IN NURSES OVER THE LAST 25 YEARS

Introduction. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the health of medical personnel, because the quality of patient care and the thoroughness of medical prescriptions depend on them. Nurses, who are directly involved in caring for the wounded and sick, experience significant psychological and physical stress. One of the most common problems among them are sleep disorders and increased anxiety, which can lead to the so-called burnout syndrome. These conditions not only affect the health of nurses, but also their ability to effectively perform their professional duties.
The aim of the study – to analyze the available information in the Scopus scientific-metric database regarding the prevalence and relevance of such a topic as sleep disorders and anxiety among junior medical personnel, in particular nurses.
The main part. In the scientometric database Scopus, an analytical query was formulated: (sleep disorders in nurses, anxiety in nurses, factors affecting sleep disorders in extreme conditions.), in order to obtain versatile information regarding the given request. A total of 2,679 scientific works from 1995 to 2024 were found in the scientometric database Scopus for our search query on this topic, despite the growing relevance of this topic. Given that over the past 25 years, scientific and technical progress has made an incredible leap, the load on the nervous system of nurses has increased by many times, which is why the chosen topic is extremely relevant. It was analyzed that sleep disorders and the presence of anxiety in nurses can be caused by various factors, such as irregular work schedules, night shifts, unbalanced nutrition, hyper-responsibility and the desire to do everything perfectly, fear of losing a job or receiving comments from doctors or superior staff, etc. An analysis was conducted over the past 25 years and the growing interest in this topic was shown, the number of publications, top authors, universities, and countries were analyzed. All these results are clearly displayed in diagrams.
Conclusions. Thus, the collection and analysis of data on sleep disorders and anxiety in nurses is a key to improving their professional and personal lives, which in turn contributes to improving the quality of health care in general.
