Abstract

Introduction. The occupational health and safety system is an integral part of any field of activity, particularly in the medical field, where it is of particular importance due to the high level of responsibility for the health and life of patients. The operating room is one of the most difficult and demanding places for medical personnel to work, where they face numerous professional risks and challenges. In this context, the legal aspects of labor protection are of particular importance, as they determine the rights and obligations of workers and employers, as well as safety standards and measures aimed at preventing and minimizing risks to workers’ health. This study examines the issue of occupational health and safety of medical personnel in the operating unit, in particular its legal aspects and measures aimed at ensuring the safety and health of workers.

The aim of the study – to analyze the regulatory and legal basis of labor protection of medical personnel. To disclose the requirements for labor protection in the operating unit.

The main part. The level of safety of any work (diagnostic, treatment, etc.) related to the provision of medical care to the population largely depends on the level of legal support for issues, that is, on the quality and completeness of the relevant requirements in laws and other regulatory legal acts. According to the legislation of Ukraine, the enterprise must provide all its employees with safe and harmless working conditions, and it is responsible for any damage caused to the health and working capacity of employees. The operating unit is a complex of specially equipped rooms intended for surgical operations. Assessment of the working conditions of medical workers should include the combined effect of all elements of the production environment on the human body. For this purpose, it is necessary to conduct an analysis of working conditions within each structural subdivision of the enterprise, and to develop a system of preventive measures to create healthy and safe working conditions.

Conclusions. Occupational health and safety of medical personnel is aimed at preserving the life, health, and maintaining the working capacity of medical workers during their professional activities. There are special requirements for labor protection in the operating unit, high technical stability and risks require appropriate measures to ensure the safety and health of workers. Proper organization and implementation of these measures in the operating unit contribute to the creation of the most comfortable and safe working conditions for medical personnel, which in turn positively affects the quality and effectiveness of the provision of medical services.
