Abstract

Introduction. Stabilization points are located 3–7 km from the contact line and provide first medical care. Anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, paramedics, anesthetists, nurse drivers, and regular drivers work there. The survival rate of the wounded depends on the coordinated work and professionalism of these people. Under modern circumstances, many specialists must learn new skills, be interchangeable and be able to work in conditions of understaffing.

The aim of the study – to conduct a qualitative analysis of the work of military medics on the example of a stabilization point using a voluntary questionnaire.

The main part. For the purpose of the research, a voluntary survey of the staff of the stabilization point was conducted to find out the profession in civilian life, previous medical experience, knowledge and skills acquired during work at the stabilization point, and willingness to learn new skills to save the lives of wounded servicemen. The results obtained in three groups were analyzed. The first group consisted of military personnel of non-medical professions in civilian life, who are currently undergoing military service at a stabilization point. In the conditions of modern war, they play the role of orderlies and drivers. The second group included nurses, paramedics and medical pharmacists, and the third group included doctors of various specialties. All military medics are directly involved in saving the lives of wounded servicemen and strive to be as useful as possible.

Conclusions. Military medics at the stabilization point work in difficult conditions, daily acquiring new knowledge and skills to improve the care of wounded soldiers. As a result of the analysis of military questionnaires, the readiness of the personnel of the stabilization point to learn new skills and acquire knowledge in the field of medicine was revealed, the migration of duties and skills between specialists of different levels was established in order to optimize the provision of medical care and preserve the life of each soldier in case of injuries and combat injuries.
