Introduction. The article analyzes measures to increase the level of awareness among medical personnel regarding the prevention of health-care-associated infections, which pose a serious threat to the healthcare system and require comprehensive measures for effective management. Addressing this issue is a key aspect of ensuring patient safety and supporting public health.
The aim of the work – to analyze measures aimed at increasing the level of awareness among medical personnel regarding the prevention of health-care-associated infections and to determine effective recommendations to prevent their spread in healthcare facility.
The main part. Health-care-associated infections are a serious complication of medical care, increasing risks for patients and requiring significant resources in the healthcare sector. The spread of HAI depends on transmission routes such as airborne and contact pathways. Healthcare professionals face numerous challenges in HAI prevention, including insufficient awareness, lack of motivation, and improper use of antimicrobial agents. A prevention program should be recognized by leadership as a strategic priority, including defining responsibilities, resource provision, and monitoring. To increase awareness among healthcare professionals, it is necessary to develop and implement effective measures for raising awareness of health-care-associated infections prevention. The implementation of training systems, motivational programs, monitoring, and feedback systems is recommended. These measures will contribute to reducing the risk of patient infection and improving the quality of medical care.
Conclusions. Based on the analysis, recommendations are proposed to increase the awareness of healthcare professionals, improve the training system, and implement effective preventive measures to reduce the spread of infections in healthcare facilities. To address the issue of increasing awareness among medical personnel regarding the prevention of HAI, it is necessary to develop and implement a comprehensive training program covering the key aspects of HAI prevention. Additionally, it is important to establish monitoring and reporting systems to assess the effectiveness of measures and promptly identify issues. Emphasis is placed on collective responsibility and mutual support among hospital departments to achieve the common goal of reducing health-care-associated infections.
