AGE AND GENDER CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STRUCTURE OF RISK FACTORS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF COPD AND BRONCHIAL ASTHMA

The article considers risk factors for the development of COPD and bronchial asthma in patients of different age groups and genders based on the analysis of domestic and foreign sources. The obtained data indicate that the incidence of COPD directly depends on the prevalence of tobacco smoking and occupational hazards, but the disease can also be caused by other harmful factors. The development of COPD is facilitated by genetic abnormalities, impaired lung development, and accelerated aging. The main risk factors for the development of bronchial asthma are factors that cause asthma and factors that contribute to the development of asthma exacerbations. The prevalence of bronchial asthma is currently underestimated. In general, the course of bronchial asthma in older people is more severe and associated with higher comorbidities. That is why timely detection of bronchial asthma helps not only to reduce disability and increase the effectiveness of treatment, but also to avoid additional financial costs for the family and the health care system.
