SAFE APPROACHES TO THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH OBESITY IN COMBINATION WITH COGNITIVE DISORDERS

Diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia, leading risk factors of cardiovascular disorders, are frequently observed together with obesity. The possibility of development of other diseases and metabolic disorders increases on the background of obesity. Examination and treatment of 20 patients with grade II obesity with concomitant cognitive disorders were performed. The patients were prescribed lifestyle modification, dietary correction and metformin in an initial dose of 500 mg 3 times a day with a gradual increase to optimal. It was observed a gradual loss of body weight of 2.5–3.5 kg / month, the average decrease in body weight was 25–30 kg per year.
