Abstract

Summary. The priority method of orthopedic treatment in the presence of dentition defects is the restoration of the integrity of the dentition with orthopedic structures based on dental implants, which in turn can lead to a large number of complications from the tissues of the supracrestal complex, such as mucositis and peri-implantitis.

The aim of the study – to increase the effectiveness of orthopedic treatment of patients with fixed dental prostheses supported by dental implants by studying the condition of the periodontal tissues of intact teeth and dental prostheses supported by dental implants made of various types of structural materials.

Materials and Methods. Survey, initial examination, evaluation of the state of oral hygiene. The gingivitis index - GI (Loe, Silness, 1967) was used to determine the presence of an inflammatory process in the gums around intact teeth and dental prostheses supported by dental implants. The study of the blood circulation of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity was carried out by the method of laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF), on a computerized laser blood microcirculation analyzer "LAKK-02" with a program for recording and processing parameters. The degree of gum bleeding was determined by the papillary bleeding index - RVI, according to Muchlemann-Son (1971).

Results and Discussion. During the assessment of dental prostheses and soft tissues around orthopedic structures based on dental implants, it was determined in the studied subjects that the condition of the prosthetic structures themselves, as well as the index of hygiene, bleeding and the state of microcirculation depends on both the general hygienic status of the studied subjects, as well as from the prosthetic structures themselves, namely the form and structural materials from which they were made. It was determined that dental prostheses made of zirconium dioxide had better results in terms of the reaction of soft tissues around the prosthetic structures, compared to composite and metal-ceramic ones in all indicators.

Conclusions. The reaction and condition of soft tissues in contact with orthopedic structures supported by dental implants depends not only on the hygienic status of the patient, but also on the construction materials used to manufacture the prosthetic structures themselves.
