Abstract

Summary. In the complex treatment of patients with generalized periodontitis, various methods of orthodontic treatment are increasingly used. However, orthodontic treatment must be supplemented with drug stimulation of osteoregeneration processes. At the same time, the state of the patient's autonomic nervous system should be taken into account. Taking this into account, these treatment methods were used, which were supplemented with a drug that enhances the processes of bone mineralization – "Calcinova".

The aim of the study – to determine the effectiveness of the use of a medicinal complex to stimulate the formation of alveolar bone in the orthodontic treatment of patients with generalized periodontitis with predominance of the sympathetic nervous system.

Materials and Methods. This study was conducted on a group of 40 patients with generalized periodontitis of a young age (18–35 years), in whom displacement of the frontal teeth of the upper jaw was detected. Patients underwent orthodontic treatment. To correct the state of the autonomic nervous system in the treatment of generalized periodontitis, patients were prescribed a complex of medicinal products supplemented with the drug "Calcinova" to stimulate osteogenesis. All patients underwent a comprehensive examination of the periodontium with the determination of the necessary hygienic indices to assess the state of the periodontium during treatment.

Results. The conducted examination of the periodontal condition showed that practically all patients had an improvement in the condition of the oral cavity. Certain dynamics of the pathological process under the influence of complex treatment have been established. The analysis of the obtained results confirms the need for orthodontic treatment of patients with generalized periodontitis using methods of correction of the state of the autonomic nervous system and stimulation of osteogenesis. It is shown that their use has a beneficial effect on periodontal tissues and increases the effectiveness of treatment of generalized periodontitis.

Conclusions. Correction of the functions of the sympathetic autonomic nervous system increases the effectiveness of drug treatment. Additional introduction into the drug composition of the drug "Calcinova" to stimulate osteogenesis will allow to achieve more stable results of treatment of patients with generalized periodontitis and maintain the existing level of attachment loss.
