Abstract

Summary. Qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the bone tissue of the jaws is necessary in all sections of dentistry - from periodontology to endodontics and prosthetics, but it is especially important in dental implantology. Analysis of the literature on prosthetics using various implant systems shows that the state of bone tissue significantly affects the period of use of dental prostheses. At the same time, the issues of osseointegration in osteoporosis remain poorly studied.

The aim of the study – to analyze data from scientific literary sources regarding the problem of osseointegration of dental implants in patients with systemic osteoporosis.

Materials and Methods. The bibliosemantic method was used to clarify the state of the problem, study the analysis of the results of previous scientific research based on literature sources and electronic resources.

Results and Discussion. In the literature, there are separate clinical observations of the successful use of dental implants in patients suffering from systemic osteoporosis. There are reports of successful implantation in glucocorticoid-dependent patients, as well as in patients suffering from osteoporosis in combination with chronic polyarthritis. The results of multi-vector studies showed that in patients with signs of systemic osteoporosis (decreased bone mineral density of the lumbar spine and femur) and osteoporotic manifestations in the structure of the alveolar bone, implants functioned successfully for many years. A number of authors observed rejection of only one implant, which, according to the authors, corresponds to literature data and cannot be attributed to systemic osteoporosis.

Conclusions. Thus, the problem of increasing the effectiveness of the use of dental implants in patients with systemic osteoporosis remains very relevant and significant for clinical practice. The demand for dental implantation among the population of Ukraine is high, but most often doctors are forced to refuse implantation to patients with osteoporosis due to the high percentage of unsuccessful consequences.
