Modern methods of peri-implantitis treatment

The article provides up-to-date data on the treatment of peri-implantitis, which compromises the result of implant-based restoration. Therefore, the study of various methods of treatment of peri-implantitis is an urgent medical and social problem of modern society.
The aim of the study – to analyze the basis of the literature given to determine the most significant ways of correction of peri-implantitis and to carry out their systematization.
Materials and Methods. The study used methods of structural-logical, bibliosemantic and analytical analysis of literary sources.
Results and Discussion. We study the analyzed and processed source of scientific and medical information related to peri-implantitis.
Conclusions. Methods of correction of peri-implantitis are divided into non-surgical and actually surgical. Before surgery, it is necessary to conduct non-surgical treatment based mainly on periodic occupational hygiene courses and the use of topical antibacterial therapy with chlorhexidine or antibiotics. Promising methods for correction of peri-implantitis are laser use and sandblasting.
