Background. The issues of complex assessment of competences, knowledge and skill and peculiarities of metrics during recertification are considered. It is emphasized that there is no single vision of the problem of attestation of doctors. Accordingly, there are problems in changing the country's doctor to ensure that doctors adapt to the advances in knowledge and technology (recertification procedure).
Materials and methods. Results. The purpose of the study is to create a conceptual framework for a quantitative system for evaluating the quality of physicians' advanced training procedures. It is concluded that existing national recertification practices do not ensure the quality of care at the international level, as they assess the competence and effectiveness of physicians only in accordance with national quality standards. There is no single methodology for comprehensive assessment of physician improvement in international recertification systems.
Conclusions. The technique of creation of a multidimensional scale of estimation of continuous professional development of the doctor which can serve as the effective mechanism of a personal portfolio is offered.
