Introducton. Infertility nowadays is a current medical and social issue. Assisted reproductive technologies is currently the most effective method of infertility treatment. Some scientific studies report about the correlation between uterus fibroids and chronic endometritis. The negative effect of these pathologies on women's reproductive health has been proven, causing dysfunction of endometrial receptivity and as a result, infertility, repeated implantation failure in IVF protocols, miscarriages and premature birth.
The aim of the study – to investigare the influence of different treatment schemes on the hormonal profile in infertile patients with leiomyoma and chronic endometritis comorbidity.
Research Methods. Clinical examination and comparative analysis of clinical and anamnestic data of 105 infertile women with uterine leiomyoma and chronic endometritis comorbidity. The patients were divided into two research groups depending on the proposed treatment scheme for chronic endometritis and a separately formed a control group.
Results and Discussion. The modified treatment scheme resulted in a significant FSH level decreasing, an increasing of the FSH/LH ratio, decreasing of the progesterone level on 2–3 days of the menstrual cycle and an increasing of its concentration on 21st day. In the group of the modified treatment scheme of chronic endometritis with pregravid preparation the number of retrieved oocytes and blastocysts, as well as pregnancy rate and childbirth were probably higher compared to the group of standard therapy.
Conclusions. Considering the important influence of sex hormones on the process of implantation and pregnancy, which is often changed in patients with chronic endometritis and uterine leiomyoma, monitoring and correction of the hormonal profile in infertile patients are necessary. This helps to choose the optimal treatment method.
