MODERN ASPECTS OF DRY EYE SYNDROME IN SYSTEMIC DISEASES IN THE FAMILY DOCTOR PRACTICE

SUMMARY. The paper presents the observation of 125 patients from Lviv and Lviv region with systemic diseases
that have ophthalmological complaints, aged 21 to 73 years (women – 89, men – 36). Ophtalmopathology was found
in 247 eyes, with the predominant pathology of the anterior eye, with dry eye syndrome (DES) was 65 % of eyes. More
pronounced ophthalmologic manifestations were found in age groups between 31 and 50 years. We discowered direct
correlation between ophtalmopatology and presence of systemic diseases. In modern conditions the family doctor
should pay attention to early detection of pathology of the anterior eye segment, especially when exacerbation of
systemic disease with metoyuyu prevent complications.
