Abstract

SUMMARY. The role of the physical therapist is key in the treatment of patients with gunshot wounds to prevent disability and increases exponentially from the immobilization to the recovery period. In the process of rehabilitation, the choice of physical therapy methods plays an important role. A number of studies demonstrate the effectiveness of using a cabin for hanging therapy, but its role in the recovery period has not been studied enough.

The aim - to develop a method of using a hanging therapy cabin for the rehabilitation of patients with gunshot wounds of the shoulder joint.

Materials and Methods. On the basis of the Ternopil Municipal Emergency Hospital No. 1, at the inpatient rehabilitation department, 30 wounded soldiers with shoulder joint gunshot wounds were treated in the period between May, 2023 and December, 2023. Patients were given a rehabilitation program using elements of therapeutic gymnastics and a cabin for suspension therapy.

Results. It has been proven that the condition of patients who practiced the proposed rehabilitation program with elements of therapeutic gymnastics and the use of a cabin for suspended therapy improved significantly. This was indicated by the MMT indicators, VAS scales, and goniometry.

Conclusions. The use of the therapeutic gymnastics and cabins for suspension therapy are effective during the rehabilitation of patients with gunshot wounds of the shoulder joint.
