ASSESSMENT OF THE STATE OF PHARMACEUTICAL AID DYNAMICS IN UKRAINE AND THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND IN THE CONTEXT OF THE ECONOMIC ACCESSIBILITY OF REIMBURSABLE MEDICINES AND MEDICAL GOODS FOR THE POPULATION

SUMMARY. The increasing of the economic and physical accessibility to pharmaceutical aid for the population by attracting public funding is important for the development of the health care system, especially for the countries with developing economies.
The aim – the retrospective comparison of the lists of reimbursable medicines and medical goods in Ukraine and in Poland in 2023-2024, the identification of general trends and establishing the differences.
Material and Methods. The analysis of the structure of Lists of reimbursable medicines, food products for special nutrition and medical goods in the Republic of Poland, Registers of reimbursable medicines according to the program of state guarantees of medical care for the population, was carried out using graphic methods, retrospective, comparative and content analysis, systematization and generalization.
Results. The results of the research emphasize the reasonability of updating the list of reimbursed medicines according to the program of state guarantees of medical care for the population. This can be fulfilled not only by increasing the assortment of medicines (including combined formulations) from the included pharmacotherapeutic groups, but also by ensuring physical and economic access to medicines for the treatment of the musculoskeletal system, sensory organs, urogenital system, sex hormones and dermatological medicines.
Conclusions. In Ukraine, as of May 2024, in accordance with current legislation, medicinal products of 6 groups according to level I of the ATC classification are not even partly reimbursed. While in the Republic of Poland, 5 groups of them are included into the medical guarantee program. Moreover, the valid Poland List exceeds the domestic one by 10 times by the number of trade names of reimbursed medicines and international non-proprietary names.
