Abstract

SUMMARY. The aim − of the study was  to determine the attitude of military doctors to the use of a patient-centered model of medical care and for increased awareness  of this issue.

Material and Methods. Anonymous questionnaire survey of 67 military physicians was conducted. Methods: sociological, statistical, system approach and analysis.

Results. Problematic issues regarding the use of the basic principles of patient-centered medical care by military physicians was identified: the technology of shared decision making was used by only 29.9 %; 53.7 % – provide emotional support to the patient in solving health problems and alleviating anxiety and fear, 59.7 % – actively involve military personnel to self-monitoring of health status and treatment results. All interviewed doctors supported the need to hold a professional school "Patient-centered approach in outpatient practice".

Conclusions. The necessity of optimizing the continuous medical education of military doctors regarding the use of the principles of the patient-centered model of medical care was substantiated.
