THE COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE ATTITUDE AMONG THE MILITARY PERSONNEL WITH CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A PATIENT-CENTERED APPROACH

SUMMARY. The aim – to assess the attitude of servicemen suffering from coronary artery disease regarding the use of principles of patient-oriented medical care.
Material and Methods. A questionnaire was conducted among 72 servicemen with coronary artery disease (30–58 years, average age – 47,6±6,5 years) who visited general practitioners. Methods of investigation are bibliographic, statistical, systematic approach and analysis.
Results. 61.1 % of servicemen believe that doctors do not always provide them with enough information regarding the specifics of their health and the course of the disease; 59.7 % are participating in the process of joint decision-making with the doctor; 84.7 % are ready to perform self-monitoring of their health and participate in the decision-making process regarding treatment.
Conclusions. The results of the study proved the interest and readiness of the surveyed servicemen with coronary artery disease to implement the principles of patient-oriented medical care.
