The aim of research – study of integration model of medical institutions with different forms of ownership in the delivery of cataract patients’ ophthalmological treatment.
Subject and Methods. The conceptual approaches to optimize the system of eye care of cataract patients are based on recommendations of WHO (2002), the existing legislation of Ukraine and the results of their research.
Results. Eye care of cataract patients is provided in hospitals of different ownership forms, which together form the medical space of Ukraine. However, currently there are no regulations that govern the interaction between them.
According to our data and data of foreign authors, complications in average occur in 8,7% of cases. During eye care in state and municipal hospitals in case of complications appearance, patient is put into a hospital. In private ophthalmological clinics and centers hospital beds usually absent. So the patients with complications on their own must contact specialized department of another institution to get needed treatment. All expenses on the treatment in state or municipal hospital patient covers by himself and relations with private clinic in which the surgery took place must be curtained juridical.
Conclusions. For providing of quality ophthalmological treatment all institutions which cataract patient can contact, must be legally grouped into single system according to the developed model. This will allow improving treatment results and to avoid or reduce level of postoperative complications.
